Intake Date: 2.7.2010

*WE WILL BE ADDING UPDATED PHOTO'S OF HOUSTON SOON SO CHECK BACK*

Houston was rescued from a very high kill shelter in Texas where he was scheduled for euthanasia.

Thanks to a local area rescue person Darcelle in Longview Texas, Houston was pulled from the shelter to save his life
Houston was then moved to our Houston Texas foster home for a two day stay awaiting his flight to Cleveland Ohio
Houston had fun while hanging out in Houston Texas

Houston caught a ride to the airport thanks to Carrie our Houston TX foster mom
who wasn't so anxious to let him go since he was such a good puppy during his two day stay there
Upon arrival in Cleveland after a nice long nap on the flight
Houston was in a bit of culture shock to find this funny white stuff all over the place when he stepped out
of the airport cargo area
Special thanks to Sue in TX and Continental Quick Pack for a discounted price for Houstons flight to Cleveland

Houston is up to date on all his vaccinations including his rabies vaccine
Houston will be neutered as soon as he's had time to settle in here in Cleveland
Houston is a wonderful puppy with a very sweet and playful temperment
Houston has not had ANY potty accidents indoors since arriving and will whine if he's in his crate
and needs to go potty
Houston entertains himself nicely when crated by playing with his chew toys or bones
Houston is starting to learn some sign language commands
We are currently working on " look at me" and " sit"
Houston seemed a bit confused the first two days here but now that he's settling in he is becoming a very happy
and playful and loving puppy.
Houston is very quiet for a deaf puppy and we've only heard him bark once since his arrival
when silly Kashi was doing a play stance in front of him egging Houston on to play with her

Now that Houston has had a few days to adjust to the temperature differences between Houston TX
and Cleveland Ohio he is thoroughly enjoying the snow and loves going outside to play in the snow

3.11.10
Houston was examined by an optholmogist today and was diagnosed with some problems in his right eye
He may need to have entroprian surgery and as he grows if his eye condition worsens
It's hard at this point to determine what his condition will be at full adulthood as he is so young and still growing
Houston's right eye is not reacting properly and he most likely has little vision in that eye
His Left eye is fine

It as also determined that Houston has " some" hearing as he appears to be able to hear
very loud or high pitched sounds.
