MADISON

10 week old Bijon/Poodle mix puppy born with no eyes

Madison was born to an Amish Puppy Miller in Holmes County Ohio
Madison's mom is a Bijon pictured below and Madisons dad is a minature poodle

The amish puppy mill in Holmes County Ohio who bred Madison could not sell Madison since she was born
without developed eyes so we were contacted by the Holmes County Humane Society to see if we could help by taking
Madison into our program here at CODA to prevent Madison from winding up in a Holmes County Ohio Kill Shelter.
We agreed to help so Madison could be socialized and trained in basic skills including
pottty training and verbal commands to help her grow into a confident, socially skilled and functional blind dog
Madison will be arriving at CODA on Friday April 13th 2007

Madison will be fostering in Hinckley Ohio with one of our active volunteers and CODA adopters
Madison will need all of her puppy vaccinations, examination by a Veterinary Opthamologist and will also need to be spayed
when she is old enough and has been cleared for surgery by our Veterinarian

UPDATE 4/21/07

Madison had her first visit today with our Veterinarians. Dr. Bob examined Madison's eyes and diagnosed her condition as
severe microopthamalia with no cornea formation.
Madison's eye slits only open slightly in the middle of each eye with the ends of her eye slits still sealed
Madison does not have fully formed corneas in either of her eyes.
Other than being blind Madison was given a clean bill of health

Madison weighed in at 2 lb 13 oz's today at her vet visit.

Madison received a puppy dhlpp vaccination today and was wormed also.
Madison is a very sweet little girl who loves to give kisses when you're holding her and say her name.
Madison was giving all the Vet Techs kisses at her vet visit today.
Madison especially loves her foster dad and was giving him lots of kisses and she loves to kiss and rub her face on his beard:)
Madison is doing wonderful on her housebreaking skills and loves to play with the other animals in her foster home
Cost of Madison's Vet Visit today $56.00

UPDATE 5/21/07
Madison was spayed last week and is healing nicely. She's been on crate rest until today following her spay surgery.
Cost of Madison's spay surgery $108.00
Madison also had her second set of DHLPP vaccinations this past week cost $12.00

Madison's favorite toy is her yellow and white bunny which you can see in the background

Maddie enjoyed a play session today with Chuck since she's been staying here at CODA Central for her recovery
Chuck plays very gently with Madison and Chuck seems fascinated with Madison since she's smaller than him and can walk underneath
his belly.
