WENDY

Wendy is a blind female Purebred Australian Shepherd Puppy
Wendy was born on December 14th 2005 to a breeder in Ohio

Wendy came into rescue with CODA on March 14, 2005
Wendy is blind but has a wonderful sense of smell and loves to be cuddled and held
Wendy does appear to be able to hear loud voices or sounds and is reacting to her name
when said loudly she will come towards the sound of her name
We are slowly working with Wendy using scent training and a lot of reassuring touch training
Wendy's tail has been cropped
(This was done by the breeder prior to surrendering to CODA)
and Wendy will begin her touch training and socialization training immediately
Wendy was a very good girl for her first bath on 14th March 2005 and even got a little silly and rambunctious during the drying process after her first bath.
Wendy was in dire need of a bath when she arrived and had a severe case of ear mites for which we have began treatment Wendy was very happy to get cleaned up and thanked us with a great big lick!
Wendy has had her first set of puppy shots and has been wormed and will be receiving her next set of puppy shots shortly
once she settles in and is comfortable in her new foster home

 

Wendy has a good deal of red merle coloring on both sides and her rear end area.
Wendy is having the most difficulty getting around out of the 3 puppies
Wendy moves in circles and is not mapping things out well in her head
After some intense one on one training she has improved slightly on her mobility skills but will require
a lot of training to learn to map things out in her head
Wendy's circling behaviour is improving greatly since she's been in rescue
We are using redirection to stop Wendy's circling behaviour.
Calling her name is working well to stop the circling behaviour .
Wendy will stop circling and come to the sound of your voice for pets and loving

Wendy received her second set of puppy vaccinations on 30 March 2005
Wendy was also wormed and had her ears treated with medication
Wendy weighed in at 22 lbs.

Wendy has been adopted by Belvedere's family
and will have Belvedere our Blind CODA Labrador
As her new brother and Stanley a senior Golden Retriever will finally get a break from
Belvedere's constant desire to play:)

Wendy is adopted on a mandatory Spay contract which requires her new family to have Wendy
Spayed between 5-6 months of age and supply us with proof of spay from their Veterinarian

Wendy is now renamed Tildie and has been spayed.
